Oregon is a city in Lucas County, Ohio or otherwise known as a suburb of the fourth-largest city in Ohio, Toledo. As of 2000, the population of Oregon was 19,355 and is constantly on the rise. The most well-known attraction in Oregon is the Sundance Drive-In, one of the last in the area. Within its city limits is also Maumee Bay State Park and Pearson Park (a Toledo Metropark).
The city of Oregon is also infamous for its annual community event, Oregon Fest. On this end of summer tradition, people of all ages are brought together for a time of fun, fellowship and entertainment. Other recreational activities in Oregon include the annual German-American Festival at Oak Shade Grove, which draws in more than a quarter million people from all over northwest Ohio. Older residents also enjoy socialization and recreation activities at the Oregon Senior Center.

The Oregon City School District includes a high school, two middle schools, and four elementary schools, one of which is located in Jerusalem Township. In addition to the Oregon schools, the region is serviced by the University of Toledo, Medical College of Ohio, Lourdes College, Owens Community College and Bowling Green State University. All of these schools are within approximately one-half hour drive time of the city.
Toledo, Ohio is approximately 20 minuets away from the city of Oregon. Because of the close location to the City of Toledo, residents of Oregon can conveniently access a world class museum, a top-ranked zoo, and a minor league baseball park, as well as a theatre stage and concert hall. Cedar Point Amusement Park is a short drive away. Toledo is the fourth-largest city in Ohio as well as the nation's third busiest rail hub, 15th-busiest air cargo hub, and one of the busiest ports on the Great Lakes. To promote economic development, the City of Toledo has announced that it will cover the 81 square miles of the city of Toledo with Wi-Fi internet access for government, business, and personal use.
In April 2009, Mayor Marge Brown announced that the City of Oregon has been awarded a Safe Routes to School Grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation in the amount of $240,000 for pedestrian and sidewalk improvements and in the amount of $50,000 to provide education and encouragement programs

Lots for Sale. Our properties are located in a Commercial/Industrial District of Oregon, specifically in Wynnscape Subdivision. In the past few years three storage facilities have been built in this subdivision. BP (British petroleum) owns and operates The Toledo Refinery, which occupies 586 acres of land near the Maumee Bay. The facility begins just one street north and one street west of this property. In 2008 BP Chief reconfirms a $3.8 billion refinery expansion project. This area is active in development and has a great future ahead.
The Commercial-Industrial District (C-I) is intended to provide for a compatible mix of commercial and industrial uses in a commercial-industrial park-like area.
1143.02 PERMITTED USES.
The following shall be permitted uses in the C-I District for the use of lands and the construction, reconstruction, placement and use of buildings and accessory uses. If a use is not expressly permitted, the use is prohibited:
(a) Any heavy industrial use shall not be located less than 500 feet from any already existing residential structure or any area zoned R-1, R-2, R-3 or R-4.
(b) Nonconforming single family residential uses and structures may continue and be repaired, maintained or enlarged on their existing parcels as would be permitted in an R-2 District notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1109.08.
(c) No new buildings shall be constructed for agricultural use.
(d) Retail business and sales.
(e) Parking lots and automobile parking or storage structures.
(f) Lodges or private clubs.
(g) Personal services.
(h) Professional, medical-dental offices and business offices.
(i) Automotive-oriented retail sales or service, excluding gas or service stations.
(j) Automobile repair garages, excluding gas and service stations.
(k) Animal hospitals and clinics provided that any outside runs are more than 150 feet from the nearest residence district.
(l) Wholesale sales and displays so long as there is no more than incidental storage on the premises.
(m) Radio and television broadcasting studios and offices.
(n) Public transport offices and terminals.
(o) Hotels and motels.
(p) Commercial, business or technical schools.
(q) Auditoriums, libraries, public and institutional uses.
(r) Commercial entertainment establishments.
(s) Restaurants and financial institutions.
